Imagine Saver — privacy policy

Imagine Saver is a browser extension that saves the images and videos you made with Grok Imagine to your own computer. It is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by xAI. Last updated: 2026-10-28.

Short version

The extension works only inside your browser. It does not send any data to the developer or to any third party, has no server, and contains no analytics, advertising or tracking.

What the extension accesses

• Your Grok Imagine library on grok.com. On grok.com pages the extension reads the list of your own images and videos that the page loads, and can request the next pages of that list and the details of each item (such as its prompt) from grok.com, using the session you are already signed in with. It never sees or stores your password.
• Your media files on assets.grok.com. When you press Download, the files are fetched from Grok's servers and saved into your Downloads folder.

All of this happens between your browser and Grok's own servers, exactly as when you browse your library yourself. Nothing passes through any other server.

What the extension stores

In your browser's extension storage (chrome.storage.local), on your device only:

• the IDs of items you have already saved, so they can be skipped next time;
• your panel options (for example video quality and folder layout) and the download concurrency setting.

You can delete the saved-items list with "Forget saved history" in the panel. Removing the extension deletes all of its storage.

Permissions

• downloads — to save files into a "Grok Imagine" folder in your Downloads folder.
• storage — to remember saved items and options, as described above.
• Access to grok.com — to show the download panel on Grok pages and read your library there.

Data sale and sharing

No user data is collected, so none is sold, shared, transferred or used for any purpose other than the download feature described above. Data is not used to determine creditworthiness or for lending.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, this page will be updated before the new version of the extension is published. Questions can be sent through the support tab of the extension's Chrome Web Store page.
