ICS file generator
Fill in the event and download an .ics file that opens in Outlook, Apple Calendar, Google Calendar and every other calendar app — or copy an add-to-calendar link.
What an .ics file is
An .ics file is a small text file in the iCalendar format (RFC 5545). Every major calendar understands it, which makes it the simplest way to share an event without asking people to sign up for anything — attach it to an e-mail, link it from a website, or add it to a newsletter.
Time zones done right
Pick the zone where the event takes place, not where your guests are. A single event is saved in UTC, so a 2 pm New York meeting shows as 7 pm in London and 4 am the next day in Seoul automatically. Repeating events are saved with the zone name instead, so a weekly 9 am stand-up stays at 9 am local time when daylight saving time starts or ends.
How to add the event
Outlook (desktop)
Double-click the .ics file and click Save & Close, or drag it onto the calendar.
Apple Calendar (Mac, iPhone)
Open the file; Calendar asks which calendar to add it to. On iPhone, tap the attachment in Mail.
Google Calendar
Use the Add to Google Calendar button above, or Settings → Import & export → Import on a computer.
Questions
Is this a meeting request with RSVP?
No. The file adds an event to the recipient’s own calendar; it does not collect replies. For RSVPs, send the invite from your calendar app.
Is my event data stored?
No. The file is generated in your browser. The Google and Outlook links contain the event details in the URL itself.
